Reason for event

This visit provided our Post 16 Law students with the chance to explore the roles and function of the Magistrates and District Judges at the local Magistrates court in Peterborough. The students were able to apply theoretical learning to real life cases and see first-hand how the Criminal Justice system processes summary cases. This visit helped to embed and underpin knowledge about the types of crime dealt with and also helped them to evaluate the role of lay people within the justice system.
