Reason for event

Provided ‘hands on’ experience of Scientific techniques.

Raised their understanding of the impact humans have on nature, e.g. genetic engineering, pollution and fuel combustion, sustainability.

Understanding of our role in the world, as part of the food chain and the dominant species, but also as a unique part of the universe.

Taught respectful treatment of other species.

Encouraged to analyse data to make informed opinions and valid conclusions, both in practical work and using researched information, such as issues with plastics, vaccination, cloning, and farming.

Taught about lifestyle choices and their impact on health.

Look at diseases and natural substances that impact our health and how to maintain health.

Insight into possible careers in Science.
