P16 Biology theory and practical work
Throughout the course students are required to handle living organisms and dissect dead organisms. We talk about the ethics behind these activities and respectful treatment of organisms.
We also cover topics such as extinction and conservation, debating questions such as ‘Is it right to make pathogenic species extinct?’ and ‘Should extinct animals be genetically engineered to return (the Quagga/Jurassic Park), or re-introduced (wolves and beavers)’ as well as biological pest control and vaccination.
