Technology Technician

We are seeking to appoint a Technology Technician who will work to make a real difference for our students and join our collaborative and experienced team who make up our Technology Faculty.

The Technology faculty consists of Design & Technology, Computer Science, Food Technology, Construction and ICT. The faculty is currently led by a Head of Faculty, with five additional members of teaching staff and one existing Technology Technician. We are seeking to expand the support side of the faculty and the successful applicant will provide technical support to staff and students, primarily based within woodwork and construction, by the preparation of tools, equipment and materials for lessons. The role will also support the wider faculty where needed, including but not limited to display work, administration, preparation for school events and learning activities within other lessons as directed by the Head of Faculty.

The successful applicant will undertake a practical, health and safety role for the faculty. The technician role forms an invaluable part of the work of the faculty and will work closely with teaching staff to support, develop and further extend the work and experiences of the students. They will be required to maintain equipment and assist in the set-up, planning and delivery of the practical and, where necessary, theory elements of lessons.

We can offer you:

  • a strong team environment that takes staff well-being seriously
  • a dedicated Senior Leadership Team who want to see staff progress and flourish in their role
  • a supportive whole school community

The ideal candidate will have

  • The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues;
  • The ability to work in a team but also to use their own initiative;
  • The ability to assist in managing classes well in a practical setting;
  • Excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills;
  • Patience and a good sense of humour.

If you are passionate about innovative education, have a commitment to personal excellence, flexible in your working methods and are ready for a new challenge, we welcome your application.
