Governors

In this section we would like to introduce you to our School Governors. The Governors are a key element in the successful running of the school and have been recognised by OFSTED as "providing excellent challenge to the school" and rated outstanding in the November 2010 full OFSTED inspection.

The headings represent the types of Governor on the Governing body. Click one of these then on the Governor to read more about him/her.

Bridget Holland

Governor Role: Chair of Governors

Profession / daily responsibilities: Retired

Why did you become a Governor?: I have always believed that every child deserves a good education, that the school should be at the heart of the community and that it should be accessible to all irrespective of age, gender or creed.

I was involved in education, as a professional, for most of my working life. When I retired I was invited by the school to become a governor. The school ethos reflected my own beliefs and I agreed to help, initially for four years. Five years later the Chair retired from her role and I was honoured to be elected in her place.

Being a governor is my way of trying to help KSCS students have the means to access some of the opportunities I have been lucky enough to experience. I am committed to helping the school ensure every student achieves their full potential and leaves with an ethos and understanding that will enable them to continue to learn throughout their lives.

Andy Ratnett

Andy Ratnett

Governor role: Community Governor, Finance and Premisies

Profession/daily responsibility: Entrepreneur, Business Owner, School Design Advisor, Project Director & ICT Advisor

Why did you become a Governor: I'm passionate about education and improving young people's chances. Over the past 15 years I have been advising others on designing and building new schools across the UK. Over the last 15 years I have primarily worked in London, so I felt it was about time I used some of my skills to help one of my local school and Ken Stimpson was an obvious choice.
