Selecting a secondary school for your child can be an exciting - yet potentially confusing - process.
This website is designed to offer an idea of how we work and what we hope to achieve at Ken Stimpson Community School. Of course, the written word is no substitute for the real experience and I hope that our open evenings, guided tours or even face –to-face meetings will give you the opportunity to see the school in action.
We are proud to be a community, comprehensive, community school for students aged 11-18. We offer superb facilities and a highly qualified and motivated teaching staff. OFSTED have officially rated us Good in April 2016 and our headline statistics show that we are a school that caters for all abilities. Our recent A level results enabled the vast majority of students to select their first choice university. Furthermore, two students secured places at Cambridge University, indicating the calibre of Post 16 (A level and Vocational) teaching at our school.
Equally, our GCSE results are impressive and continue an upward trend with 75% of our students achieving A*-C in English and 51% A*-C including English and Mathematics this summer, a 10% increase on last year’s figures.
At Ken Stimpson Community School great emphasis is placed on partnership and co-operation between parents, students and staff to ensure each child receives the best possible education.
We encourage and welcome dialogue with students, parents and friends of the school to achieve our aim of sustained improvement in all areas. We are more than delighted to show parents/carers and potential students around our school so you can get a real flavour of the ethos we have created.
Setting the highest standards, we have created a happy and ordered environment where young people can develop and achieve their true potential.
Welcome to Ken Stimpson Community School!
